SATADOM-Module as boot drive
Officially repliedHello,
I am using the CWWK AMD-8845HS 8-bay NAS which has a SATA-Slot next to a 4-pin 2.5/3.5 Drive Power Supply-Slot.
I had the Idea of getting a SATADOM Module as a boot drive to populate the SATA-Slot with and use the SFF-8643 Slots to connect my main HDD-Drives for a Nas Build.
The specific SATADOM Module I have is the Innodisk SATADOM-MV 3SE (DESMV-64GD06AW1QB-A91). Power straight from the SATA-Port probably won't work and I need a cable but it's driving me nuts trying to find one. The Module has a 3-Pin input on it's side. How can I connect that to the 4-pin power supply port on the board?
Anyone got any ideas? I have attached a photograf of the module itself and the side power-port.

I hope I'll be able to get some help here.
Thanks in advance.
According to the information I've found, the 3-pin power connector on this Innodisk SATADOM-MV 3SE module is a Molex 51146 series socket with a 1.25mm pitch. Its pinout is as follows (viewed from the front of the module, left to right):
Pin NumberSignal DefinitionDescriptionPin 1+5V5V power inputPin 2GNDGroundPin 3GNDGround
You can use the 4-pin D-type hard drive power connector from an ITX power supply, tap into the red (+5V) and two black (GND) wires, and make a custom adapter cable. Alternatively, you can look for a pre-made adapter cable.
Image in a separate reply since it didn't work right.

Congratulations on getting this working! I can’t really explain the ticking sound you’re hearing, as I haven’t worked with this specific module myself — I only provided general advice based on what I know. Feel free to ask further questions or create a new thread if you run into any other issues.
