AMD FP7-20G 8845HS Freeze/reboot

Hello,

I bought the CWWK AMD 8845HS Octa-core NAS motherboard Dual 10G Ethernet ports 8 drive bays Dual ASM1164 expansion SATA3.0 / PCIE X16 (AMD FP7-20G ) and i have some trouble of reboot/freeze :

Ports list  :

  • * USB 3.2 Gen 2
  • * Type C
  • * DP 2.1
  • * HDMI 2.1
  • * 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1
  • * 2 RJ45 10G
  • * Jack 3.5

The other hardware i have is

  • * CORSAIR SF750  (750W)
  • * CORSAIR VENGEANCE SODIMM DDR5 RAM 16Go  4800MHz CL40  (CMSX16GX5M1A4800C40)
  • * SSD 500Go nvme Crucial P3 plus CT500P3PSSD8
  • * 4 HDD WDC WD80EFPX-68C4ZN0 8TO
  • * 2 HDD ST2000VN004-2E4164 2TO

Software :

  • * Kernel : Linux 6.12.57+deb12-amd64
  • * Debian 12 Bookworm
  • * OpenMediaVault 7.7.24-7

Since the beginning the mother board freeze/reboot without a lot of informations inside the log (Brutal reboot/freeze).

At start, with the default parameter inside the bios, the motherboard was freezing / restarting during a simple APT install in debian.

I have updated the bios with the official bios version from CWWK.

Generally speaking the motherboard freeze without explanation sometimes but also with specific operations :

  • * During a backup and the use of Rsync
  • * Media Service who scan the HDD (Plex, Jellyfin, Radarr or Sonarr).

The freeze is not linked to a specific SFF-8643 cable and occur on both

I have done some test :

  • * MemTest --> Ok
  • * Stress CPU --> Ok
  • * Stress CPU + Stress IO --> not Ok
  • * Smart HDD + Nvme --> Ok
  • * HDD always on
  • * HDD with sleep mode

I have also try some parameters inside the bios (All parameters set is in the bottom of the post) :

  • * Eco mode : H Series OPNs System Config 4 (35W)
  • * PCIe Loopback mode : Disabled
  • * ASPM Mode and Hotplug Mode disabled
  • * Change Slot Bandwidth : X4X4

Some bios settings help and reduce the number of freeze like the slot bandwidth

I have also set some parameters in debian :

  • * processor.max_cstate=1
  • * nomodeset
  • * pcie_aspm=off

Some parameters helps me to reduce the amount of freeze to 1/2 freeze by day but the bug didn't disappear.

I hope i have put enought details, don't hesitate to ask for more.

    Please try to download and update this BIOS. We released an updated version on November 19, 2025, which is currently the latest. Several useful menus have been unlocked to allow free configuration without affecting the normal operation of the motherboard.
