CWWK 12th Gen N100 2x Intel i226-V 2.5G magic mini PC

Purchase: Bought directly from CWWK website in December 2023

Device: MBX-AD12NR100 (sticker CW-MBX-AD12N-1)

BIOS: 6083002 (2023-06-06)

OS: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

---

1. Issue: SATA ports not working

  • SATA enabled in BIOS
  • 3.5” HDD + SATA data/power connected
  • BIOS shows no SATA device
  • Ubuntu also detects no /dev/sdX
  • HDD verified working on other hardware
  • NVMe, USB, LAN all work normally

Question:

Is this a known issue with this BIOS version?

Is there a recommended BIOS update that fixes SATA detection?

---

2. Request: Latest stable BIOS version

The firmware folders on https://drive.x86pi.com/ are unclear.

Please confirm:

  • Correct BIOS file for MBX-AD12NR100
  • Which is the most stable for 24/7 server use?

---

3. Fan header voltage & capabilities (Solved - Leaving details here for reference)

The motherboard includes three fan connectors:

  • Small 3-pin fan header
  • Small 4-pin header (“temperature control fan”)
  • Standard 4-pin power header

This part is already solved.

I checked the 4-pin fan header and confirmed it is a 5V PWM header.

I am keeping the original questions below only for reference

(Original questions. No need to answer)

  • Are these 12 V or 5 V outputs?
  • Which header supports PWM?
  • Maximum current rating?
  • Can they safely power two small fans?

---

Thank you.

This is a follow-up with more technical information.

I removed the motherboard to take a clear photo of the model label.

    ---

I checked the 4-pin fan connector and confirmed the pinout.

    Here is the mapping:

    • Pin 1: PWM — blue wire
    • Pin 2: Tachometer — yellow wire
    • Pin 3: 5V power — red wire
    • Pin 4: Ground — black wire

This means the 4-pin header is a 5V PWM fan header, not 12V.

    Question: IT8613E fan controller

My board includes the ITE IT8613E chip.

    I would like to confirm:

    1. Is the IT8613E the chip that controls the fan headers on this motherboard?
    2. If yes, can the 4-pin header be controlled from Linux (PWM speed control)?
    3. Which Linux driver/module should be used? (For example: it87, nct6775, or another module?)

Any documentation or recommended Linux settings would be very helpful.

    Thank you.

    Regarding your previous inquiry:

1.I recall that a SATA power cable was not included at the time of shipment. If you sourced one yourself, please note that on a standard SATA power cable, the red wire is for 5V, the yellow wire is for 12V, and the two black wires are ground (GND).

2.Regarding BIOS: the latest BIOS versions are typically released sooner on the CN (Chinese) site. The COM (international) site usually receives consolidated updates approximately every six months. You can access them here: https://drive.x86pi.cn

3.This device supports two commonly used BIOS configurations:

       (1) PCIe lanes configured as 4x1

       (2) PCIe lanes configured as 1x4

The device allows installation of two small fans simultaneously.
