Hi,

We are considering this motherboard for an upcoming product, however we require a fully functioning BIOS.

We have tested with both available BIOS Images:

  1. The BIOS that ships with the CW-AT-10G-8P board available here: https://doc.x86pi.cn/#/docs/fs/VXCQuW3XQSosL8RRJL2ixp/292
  2. The BIOS that is recommended for the N355 Twin Lake boards available here:
    https://drive.x86pi.com/BIOS/Intel/2.NAS-Mainboard-BIOS/Twin%20Lake(N150%20N250%20N350%20i3-N355)/CW-NAS-ADLN-KV10

Both BIOS files do function with the CW-AT-10G-8P board, however both are broken in some way:

  • The BIOS that ships with the board (linked on docs.x86pi.cn):
    ✅ Recognises NVME drives installed on the system
    ✅ Advanced->PCI Subsystem Settings->SR-IOV [Enabled] - Works
    ❌ Advanced->PWRON After Power Loss [Always Off] - Does not work.
    ❌ No In-Band ECC setting.
  • The BIOS that is recommended (linked on drive.x86pi.cn):
    ✅ Chipset->System Agent (SA) Configuration->Memory Configuration->In-Band ECC Support [Enabled] - Works
    ❌ Advanced->IT8613 Super IO Configuration->Restore AC Power Loss [Power Off] - Does not work.
    ❌ No SR-IOV setting
    ❌ Does not recognise NVME drives installed on the system.

An update to the BIOS variant that ships with the motherboard that fixes the "PWRON After Power Loss [Always Off]" function and adds the "In-Band ECC" settings would address the problems we have identified, allowing us to consider it for our product.

Please advise if/when this would be possible.

Thanks.

    The information you provided is very clear. However, you flashed the wrong BIOS, which caused the hard drives to become unrecognizable. Fortunately, your system can still boot up. The doc site you found is correct. I have already placed the BIOS supported by your motherboard in the Twin Lake (N150 N250 N350 i3-N355) / CW-NAS-AT-10G-8P / folder, along with images.

    Hi @loodd,

    Thanks for looking into this for me, however the BIOS you mention is identical to the one in the first link I posted, from February this year:

    That BIOS has the following problems:

    ❌ Advanced->PWRON After Power Loss [Always Off] - Does not work.

    ❌ No In-Band ECC setting.

    Are you able to fix these issues and release an updated BIOS for this board?

    Thanks.

    I also have one of these CW-AT-10G-8P and I verified that In-Band ECC does NOT actually work.

    It is possible to enable the option in the BIOS, but it is not actually enabled in the memory controller. The Linux EDAC driver does load and thinks it's enabled, because all the registers (at offset 0xd400 from MCBAR) are returning ffffffff's to all reads (the IBECC facility of the memory controller is basically inaccessible).

    There are other issues with the BIOS. The reserved region corresponding to the memory controller in PNP region 03 isn't properly covering the complete address space of the MC resulting in kernel warnings.

    CWWK, is there a way you can work with AMI to fix this ?
